The Theater am Großmarkt opened in 2015 in the Grossmarkthalle, the city’s historic, listed wholesale market.
The venue has hosted musical productions, (TV) shows, events, gala evenings, rock and pop concerts, and exhibitions. The auditorium offers an impressive, unobstructed view of the immensely high, eight-centimetre thick cement arches – the highest point is 20 meters above the theater’s seats. After an extensive renovation, the converted theater has 1670 seats and became a very special place in March 2020 when Harry Potter and the Cursed Child became the first non-English-speaking person to move in.
We are pleased to confirm that Moulin Rouge! The musical will be performed at the Theater am Großmarkt from October 28, 2026.
