The Edinburgh Playhouse is the UK’s largest all seated theatre, boasting an original proscenium arch and recently restored features throughout the auditorium, offering the ultimate performance space within an intimate theatre surrounding.
Production tours have included Scottish premieres of Matilda The Musical, the opening of the International tour of MAMMA MIA! the Musical and the record breaking run of Disney’s The Lion King. Forthcoming productions include The Book of Mormon, Dreamgirls and Strictly Ballroom.
The Playhouse also hosts some of the biggest recording artists and comedians in the world including Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Proclaimer’s, PJ Harvey, Bon Iver, Craig Ferguson, Tim Minchin and 5 sold out nights of Kevin Bridges.
Situated on the theatre’s balcony level, is the Playhouse’s The Boards Bar, a piano style bar with the capacity of 100, offering the perfect cabaret or stand up setting.
