The Grade II listed Manchester Opera House is the companion venue to the Manchester Palace with a large capacity but an intimate auditorium making it perfect not only for smaller musicals but also dance, drama, comedy and pantomime.
Ghost and Bat Out of Hell had world premiere in the theatre before transferring to the West End. In 2019/20 the hits musicals & Juliet and Back to the Future premiered in the Opera House with 9 to 5, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The Rocky Horror Show, Sunny Afternoon and Legally Blonde all opening at the Manchester venue before national tours. Shows that are scheduled to perform in the upcoming months include: a return visit of Sunny Afternoon, Love Never Dies, Heathers and Waitress. The one-night programme features comedy, music and appearance by renown media, sports and literary personalities.
